I recieved a great question from a new member who is considering sharing her dress, but doesn't want to pay for the shipping costs since she'll be giving it away for free (completely understandable). When recieving a dress, it's a good idea to be aware that you will likely be asked to pay for shipping costs unless you're lucky enough to live in the same city. It's important to discuss the costs with your donor and ensure you are completely smitten with the dress and the measurements will work for your body. This is a trade at your own risk site, so make sure you are 100% comfortable before deciding on a dress.
If you are donating a dress, be sure to include your city so that people can consider the cost of shipping, and maybe you'll even make a local match. Also clearly state that shipping fees will be the responsibility of the dress recipient. You can discuss the cost of shipping via email when you choose a recipient.
To calculate shipping fees, we recommend using UPS.com. Also, you may prefer to use https://www.paypal.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">PayPal.com to handle shipping transactions, as it's a secure site. Please do not share any personal information on The Wedding Dress Project forums.
Happy sharing!
